Get InvolvedVolunteering

The Herberton Mining Museum History Association Inc. (HMMHA) supports the activities of the Herberton Mining Museum and Visitor Information Centre which is operated by the Tablelands Regional Council. The HMMHA is a volunteer organization and functions on the energy and dedication of each volunteer. That is what won it the John Oxley Community History Award. One way you could get involved is by becoming a volunteer. We are always looking for general volunteers to man the front desk and greet visitors, but there are also possibilities as guides, display planners and constructors, grounds upkeep and conservation, gardeners, naturalists, people who can enter data, research assistants, and planners. Regular monthly volunteers meetings allow volunteers to keep up with what is happening and put forward any ideas to make the displays and functioning even better. Just contact the museum.
